Monica Smith is The Empowerment Therapist, founder of Empower Me Coaching & Counseling and creator of The Path of Empowerment Therapy.
She works with entrepreneurs, executives, and high performers who are ready to start understanding their patterns and living differently — across relationships, health, work, and finances.
This is mental and emotional strength training. And it works because she walked the path first.

Not found. Not fixed. Trained.
At Empower Me Coaching & Counseling, we believe emotional strength isn’t something you either have or don’t have—it’s something you build.
Just like your body, your emotional and mental health requires intentional, consistent training. When you stop working out, muscles weaken. And when you stop engaging your emotional intelligence, your patterns, reactions, and relationships begin to operate on autopilot.
But here’s the good news for you and/or your organization:
You can train yourself to become stronger—mentally, emotionally, relationally.
We call this training The Path of Empowerment Therapy.
It’s a simple, powerful framework rooted in emotional intelligence:
But this isn’t just theory. This is training.
We guide you through this process using:
Because emotional intelligence isn’t static—it’s dynamic.
It’s shaped daily by how you think, respond, connect, and grow.
And when you train it intentionally,
you don’t just feel better…
You become stronger.

The most direct way to work with Monica. Tailored to your life, your patterns, and the places where understanding and living differently have not yet caught up with each other. Available for individuals, entrepreneurs, and executives.

The Path of Empowerment Therapy as a guided online course and community. Move through the four phases at your own pace, access structured content, and do the work alongside people who understand it from the inside.

Structured organizational engagements for C-suite leaders and management teams. This is not a workshop — it is training that produces real, observable change in how your team communicates, leads, and builds trust.

Monica brings the framework to the stage. Keynotes and workshops tailored to your event, your audience, and the specific terrain your people are navigating with tools they can use the following Monday.

Empowerment Therapy is a structured mental and emotional strength training program. The same way physical fitness requires consistent, intentional work, not just understanding how muscles function, but actually using them, mental and emotional strength requires the same. Insight is the starting point. Building the capacity to live differently is the work.
Traditional therapy largely follows the client's lead. You bring what's present; the therapist responds. Empowerment Therapy moves through a specific arc: See Yourself, Be Yourself, See Others, Be With Others. Each phase builds on the one before it because that order is not arbitrary. You cannot genuinely manage yourself until you have seen yourself clearly. You cannot see others accurately until you have developed the capacity to regulate. You cannot build real connection until you have built the self that genuine connection requires.
Most approaches focus on a presenting problem: a relationship in crisis, anxiety at work, a specific loss or trauma. Empowerment Therapy holds a different premise: that how you show up in your relationships, your health, your work, and your finances is not four separate problems. It is one self, operating the same way across four different arenas. Build the self, and all four arenas begin to shift.
Every session includes not just a framework and a reflection, but a micro-practice — one specific, real-world action to carry into the week ahead. Because insight without application does not create change. Reading about strength training does not build muscle. The practice is not optional. It is the whole point.
This methodology was not designed in a research lab or derived from someone else's framework. It was built by someone who needed it before she could teach it. Monica Smith is not observing your experience from clinical distance. She is someone who has walked this specific terrain — twice through the hardest version of it — and built something durable on the other side. That changes the nature of the work. It is less expert-to-patient and more guide-to-traveler.
Empowerment Therapy is not asking you to choose. If you are in therapy, this deepens it. If you have done therapy and feel ready for the next layer of work, this is that layer. The workbook, the one-on-one coaching, and the organizational programs are all designed to work alongside professional mental health support — not in place of it.
